Guess the Prize

A ever so slightly delayed Happy New Year to you all! It has been a while since I last wrote a proper post. I don't know where the time has gone, what with Christmas, working on my CIPR qualification, and also trying to fit in some DIY in the (yet to be complete house!). However, one of my goals for this year is to get back into the blogging habit, as I have missed blogging. Watch this space!

One factor which didn't help my lack of blogging was the fact that my mobile internet signal was less than great when we moved. I am in the process of looking at various broadband deals, so it was quite spooky timing when BT contacted me to tell me about their Big Broadband Sale.

BT is currently offering their BT Infinity package for £7.50/month, which is half price. Now you know I love a bargain, so that sounds like a great deal to me. When I looked at their website, they are also offering a £60 Sainsbury's voucher, when you purchase it online.  Wrong supermarket I know, but "every little helps"!

As if that great package wasn't enough to put a smile on your face, tomorrow BT will be celebrating by streaming the first live gameshow on Twitter.

Here's how it will work:

* You will have the chance to win a bundle of themed prizes by interacting with a live game show during 5 hourly slots (12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm). Within this time you will have a 7 minutes and 50 seconds period to answer correctly.

* Within the live stream, a presenter will ask Twitter users to spot the £7.50 bargain amongst a range of different priced prizes that run past on a ‘game show’ conveyor belt. The winner will win all of the prizes featured on the show. Prizes include Xbox 1, Home Entertainment system, Barclays Premier League tickets and many more!

* Each successful tweet will go into a prize draw made up from correct guesses tweeted in during the stream. Once the time is up, a winner will be selected and announced live. Once the stream is complete, the screen reverts back to a countdown until the next one.

* If you fancy your chances at winning some prizes then here is all you need to do:

Guess the item valued at £7.50. Tweet @BT_UK with your answer, making sure to include the hashtag #GuessThePrize . Simple!

And if you aren't lucky enough to win during one of the live streams, then don't worry. Following the final stream - just after 4.08pm - an extended prize draw will be open for those who missed out during the day, featuring an image showcasing a bundle of prizes that can be won. The competition will close at 9pm, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

I for one will be taking part, in what I like to think of as the Generation Game (Google it if you are too young to remember!) for the broadband generation! Do let me know if you are lucky enough to win!

Right, back to some DIY for me at the moment. There is some flat-pack IKEA furniture with my name on it!

Save 67% on stunning Weston scarves

Just a quick post to let you know about a great offer that Weston Scarves have on their (brand new and rather lovely) website. For four days only, you can purchase one of their silk scarves for £58, meaning that you save two thirds of the RRP. I absolutely love Weston scarves - beautiful designs and stunning colours. I was recently lucky enough to meet the man behind the scarves in person, and it was fascinating to hear him talking about the mineral images. They also have other products at 50% off including their beautiful wool-silk scarves.

The CC Effect: How you can support a fashion startup for £1

just wanted to give my readers a heads up on a fabulous Kickstarter project from Charli Cohen, the sportswear design who I interviewed back in August. Charli has launched a Kickstarter project, The CC Effect, to raise 30k to launch a pop-up shop to take her debut collection to market. Charli is so close to reaching her funding target, but still needs to raise £3,160 in the next 5 days to reach her goal. So if you love fabulous sportswear or know someone who does; or maybe you just want to support a fashion startup, get yourself over to Charli's Kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/charlicohen/the-cc-effect-technical-sportswear-gets-luxe

If you haven't already clicked through and are still reading my blog, then here is some more information on the project which might persuade you that supporting Charli would be a great idea:

THE WHO
A new, luxe, fashion-forward sportswear label from young British designer Charli Cohen.

THE WHAT
Premium, UK-made, technical sportswear that bridges the gap between high-performance function and high-end fashion.
THE GOAL
To launch a pop-up shop in Central London to take the Charli Cohen debut collection to market. Charli wants to offer customers a fun and personal shopping experience and to have the valuable physical platform to showcase her collection to press, buyers and investors. Charli has been educating on health and wellness since 2005 - the pop-up shop would give her a fantastic new platform to make a difference!
HOW IT WORKS
The CC Effect Kickstarter has been running for 25 days, with only 5 days left to go. By selecting a pledge level to suit you, you can shop the full limited edition Charli Cohen range, special Kickstarter exclusives, VIP event tickets and creative Christmas gifts. Every single purchase goes towards raising the 30k target for The CC Effect Pop-up to go ahead (what you pledge is what you get - FREE international shipping and no sneaky extra charges).
ABOUT CHARLI COHEN
Charli trained as both a fashion designer and a personal trainer. She launched her fashion business at the age of 15 and a personal training consultancy five years ago at the age of 18.
If Charli doesn't raise the full 30k then all pledges will be obsolete and the project will be unable to go ahead. However, if the project DOES reach 30K, all backers will receive their fabulous chosen rewards and The CC Effect project will go ahead, helping Charli to achieve her dream!
